BITBL008 – The Fur Coats – Goddamn, I’m a Handsome Man 7″

The latest from Artistic Integrity Records is a collaboration with two other labels: Seven Dead Arson Records and Dirt Cult Records. They are The Fur Coats – a Chicago power pop band from people who have brought you bands like Das Kapital, The Traitors, No Empathy, Devon Kay & the Sollutions, and Direct Hit! To steal a review from another site: “If you like garage and pop punk The Fur Coats is a band you should check out, it’s catchy as hell but not your generic pop punk.”

For the sleeve of these test presses, I drew some inspiration from the recent Local Natives record sleeve for their album ‘Hummingbird.’ It had a die-cut slip cover and after seeing it, I wanted to try something similar for something of my own.

These turned out exactly like I expected, and I love different layers that came through on the final product. Enjoy.

BITBL003 – AIR003 – An Aesthetic Anesthetic – Names – Test Sleeve

These were a lot of fun to make. Making sure the eyes lined up and actually stayed there. Funny looks from people when they saw the song titles. People asking me what kind of Halloween music was on it.

Note: It’s not Halloween music. Unless you want it to be.

You can pick up the album on vinyl here.

Or listen to it here.

Finished two other covers and about to start work on two more. Keep watch and I’ll keep you informed.

BITBL002 – AIR002 – Devon Kay/Ambulance Review Test Sleeves

This is the second set of test press covers I finished at the beginning of the summer for Dan over at Artistic Integrity Records. Much like the first set, these were done with a laser cutter, using AutoCAD and DataCAD; then made from black mat board, with a magenta/pink under-layer.

I couldn’t have been happier with how these turned out.

Limited to 17 copies. If you’re interested in one, or a copy of the 7″ split, contact Dan over at http://www.artisticintegrityrecords.com.

AIR-002 – Ambulance Review / Devon Kay & the Solutions – Split 7″

Just a heads up on the next covers I’m working on.

Dan over at Artistic Integrity Records is gearing up for his second release – a split 7″ between The Ambulance Review and Devon Kay & the Solutions.

You can hear a bonus track from the 7″ here.

And can hear more from Devon Kay here.

And can hear more from The Ambulance Review here.

Here’s what the cover of the official release is going to look like:

Test press covers forthcoming.

More information in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, keep up with everything AIR related at Artistic Integrity Records.

Dan Andriano / Mike Felumlee Split Vinyl Test Press Covers

Here are the pictures of the final pieces that I sent to Artistic Integrity Records for the test press covers for his first vinyl release: a split 12″ LP from Dan Andriano and Mike Felumlee.

In case you’re curious, this release is selling amazingly well, and is currently the fourth most-ordered item on Interpunk, and on their front page. If you want a colored copy of this (limited to 333), you can still get them here.

Dan (the label owner) has told me that people have been pretty thrilled to get their hands on these, and I’m already looking forward to the next ones for him (already have lots of good ideas).

Project 1 is finished. And off.

I’ve officially finished Buried in the Bright Light’s first project.

I can’t show the final pictures yet, as the release hasn’t been announced yet, but you can check out a preview shot:

Look for full pictures and detailed explanation of the process in a week or two.

Along with some other cool stuff I’m working on. And maybe some other neat stuff too.

In the meantime, you can check out the record label site of Dan Wallach, and and his newly-formed Artistic Integrity Records.
